Alwyn Maass, one of our talented winemakers at Namaqua, is a man of many talents! Not only does he craft some of our finest Namaqua wines, but he is also a keen adventurer and marathon runner. This year, he is taking part in Expedition Africa, a multi-discipline endurance sport where competitors compete in teams, navigating from control point to control point. Disciplines include: mountain biking, trekking, kayaking, rope work and orienteering. Teams are expected to navigate using a map and landmarks, and must be able to operate in harsh remote environments in all weather conditions. They also need to be pretty resilient and potential night owls, willing to travel through day and night.
